The first phase is an R&D project that aims to facilitate public transportation for urbanites and manage it with smart systems in cities consisting of two phases funded by TUBITAK. With this project, it is possible to optimize urban public transportation, manage and direct the demands, requests and complaints of passengers, and make line optimizations with the Geographical Information Management System.
Within the scope of the project, a system is being developed for the optimization/solution of the complex planning problem created by urban transportation systems. The software with project output is unique in Turkey. The low cost of investment and operation compared to its counterparts abroad, being integrated with existing systems, will provide an advantage in terms of its patentable original structure.
Integrated smart transportation planning can be made for different public transportation vehicles through software. Thus, resource (driver, vehicle, fuel, time, workforce) optimization according to demand (passenger, comfort, travel time), more efficient regulation of drivers' working periods (partly, full, special, night), improving the existing routes of vehicles can be minimized and carbon emissions are reduced accordingly.
